Annapurna Circuit Jomsom Trek


Also known as Round Annapurna Trekking or Annapurna Circuit Jomsom trek is one of the magnificent treks which all the trekkers should visit. Once is never enough for every trekking area. And Annapurna Circuit Jomsom trek is one among them. Open in 1977 with world highest peak Thorang La Pass 5416m the best choice for peak climbers. And the view of world deepest George kali Gandaki being 5,571 m or 18,278 ft lower than Annapurna I which bounds it at one point. On top of that, you will get mesmerized by the native people. This great deal of unique hospitality and traditional culture makes it one of the great journey to put on our bucket list.
This “classic” journey, Annapurna Circuit Jomsom trek around the massif of the Annapurna Himal. We start with a drive to Beshishahar in the lowland paddy fields gaining altitude. Once leading up the Marsyangdi River Valley passing through oak and pine forests. Finally emerging into the high desert valley at Manang (3597m.) through the villages of Chamje, Bagarchap, Pisang to cross the Thorung La Pass (5416 m).
The descent is amazing and varied. The trail switches over to the Kali Gandaki River valley further descending through the villages of Muktinath, Jomsom. Ghorepani and ends in Pokhara giving you enough time to explore the people and their culture. Lowland, farming communities are full of Brahmin and Chettri people of Aryan stock give way. Followed by the highland trading communities of Magar, Gurung and Sherpas people of Mongoloid stock. Annapurna range varied with ecosystems, diverse cultures with an ever-changing landscape. Lush, green paddy fields and oak forests, arid deserts and the deepest gorge in the world make this one of the most popular treks in the world.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Beshishahar (760m.)
Day 03: Trek from Beshishahar to Bahundanda (1310m.)
Day 04: Trek from Bahundanda to Chamje (1430m.)
Day 05: Trek from Chamje (1410m.) to Dharapani (1860m.)
Day 06: Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2670m.)
Day 07: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3100m.)
Day 08: Trek from Pisang to Manang (3540m.)
Day 09: Rest day at Manang and acclimatization day before crossing the Thorung La.
Day 10: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4018m.)
Day 11: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m.)
Day 12: Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath(3800m.)via Thorong La (5416m.) Pass
Day 13: Trek from Muktinath to Kagbeni (2800 m.)
Day 14: Trek from Kagbeni to Jomsom (2710m.)
Day 15: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara which takes about 35 minutes.
Day 16: Drive or Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.
Day 17: Free day in Kathmandu for souvenir shopping & independent activities
Day 18: Send off to airport, departure from Kathmandu.
