Annapurna Sanctuary Trek


Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is one of the most popular destination. This trail offers views of world tallest peak, mountains and undisturbed culture and religions. This most popular trekking destination of Nepal lies north of Pokhara. This trek offers some of the most dramatic close-up views of the tallest mountain peaks in the world. The abrupt variations in altitude provide an astonishing experience. The summit of Machhapuchhre (6997m) is less than 30 kilometers from the airstrip in Pokhara (850m.). In less than a week we move from the sub-tropical areas around Pokhara to high tundra and the glaciers. Making our way to Annapurna Base Camp Trekking areas.
On the way of Annapurna Sanctuary Trek most of the locality we will find the inhabitation of Gurung and Magar people. The friendly smiling people from the famous Gorkha regiment. Most of them have served the British and Indian armies. Annapurna Sanctuary Trek well known for its destination of Nepal offers a good mix of high mountains and Himalayan culture on this trek The Annapurna Himal lies between the Kali Gandaki and Marsyangdi river valleys, forming a solid, mountain bastion.  In its span of 40 miles, it encompasses some twelve peaks higher than 7000 m. and many others over (6000 m) also frequented by many Hindu pilgrims is in this area.  The Annapurna Sanctuary forms a 360 Degree natural amphitheater. Ringed by Huin Chuli (6441 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Gangapurna (7454 m), Tharpu Chuli (5663 m) and Machhapuchare or “Fish Tail” as we can see.
In near future construction of the roads will offer us the enduro ride of Annapurna Sanctuary trek in motorcycle tour. The only remaining obstacle is the Thorang la Pass. 01 DAY: – Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345meters) and transfer to hotel:
Our airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.

02 DAY: – Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu valley & an orientation:
After breakfast, our professional tour guide will take you for the sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley. We visit Kathmandu Durbar squire, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa and return to the hotel.

03 DAY: – After breakfast at the Hotel, drive to the north of Pokhara to Phedi. From Phedi, the trail climbs to Dhampus 1750m which stretches for several kilometers from 1580 to 1700m.The trail climbs to Potana 1990m. Total 3 hours walk.

04 DAY: – Potana/Landrung 1646 m. The trail descends first and then climbs up all the way through Gurung villages. From the ridgeline beautiful mountain range of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Machapuchare can be seen. Landrung has many lodges with all the basic facilities for trekkers. Total 3hlf/4 hours walk.

05 DAY: – Landrung /Chhomrong: The trail descends again for 10 minutes and then splits – north to Chhomrong and the sanctuary, or downhill to Ghandrung. Chhomrong at 1950m has a choice of hotels. Total 3half 4 hours walk.

06 DAY: – Chhomrong/Bamboo Lodge: The trail drops down to Chhomrong Khola, then climbs to Kuldi at 2520m where there is an Annapurna Conservation Area project office, checkpoint and information center. Continue on to Bamboo Lodge 2340m, a collection of four hotels.Total 6 hours.

07 DAY: – Bamboo lodge /Himalayan Hotel: The trail climbs through Bamboo, then a small town en route continues through rhododendron forests to Doban 2630m and on to Himalayan Hotel at 2900m. Total 6 hours.

08 DAY: – Himalayan Hotel/Machapuchare Base Camp. From Himalayan Hotel on to Machapuchare Base Camp at 3720m. Uphill walk for the almost whole day. Total 5 hours walk.

09 DAY: – Visit Annapurna Base Camp 4095 and return to Machapuchare Basecamp. The climb to Annapurna base camp takes about 2 hours. Start early as clouds often come in before noon and can make the trail hard to find. The route passes a few roofless shepherd’s huts. There are good views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna that towers above the sanctuary to the northeast. Several peaks that are accessible from the sanctuary are on the trekking peak list. Tharpu Chuli 5663m offers to command a 360-degree view of the entire sanctuary. Its higher neighbor to the north is Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak) 6501m, to the south is Hiunchuli. There are few birds in the sanctuary, but there are tahr, Himalayan weasels, and pika. Total 4 hours walk.

10 DAY: – Machapuchare  Base camp to Dobang 2400m.  Compare to previous days now the walk is much easier going down through mostly forest and sometimes scanty villages area to Dobang.Total 5 hours.

11 DAY: – Dobang/Chhomrong: At times return trek will be retracing your steps. Again mostly downhill walk with the combination of villages and rhododendron forest area to Chhomrong. Total 5 hours.

12 DAY: – Choomrong/Tadapani 2300m. Full view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri range including the Machapuchare can be seen from the ridgeline. Continue downhill walk to a small Gurung village of Tadapani. Total 5 hours.

13 DAY: – Tadapani/Ghandrung: Ghandrung a huge Gurung village at 1970m is the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal (the largest is Siklis).The hotels are scattered throughout the village and are quite far apart, both in distance and elevation. There are neatly traced fields both above and below the town. Total 3 hours walk.

14 DAY: – Ghandrung/Nayapul: Turn south at the foot of Ghandrung and start the long descent to the Modi Khola. The trail drops at first on a staircase, then traverses high above the river on a wide stone-paved trail. Reach Berethanthi and another 20-minute walk on the rough trail to Naya Pul, where our vehicle will pick you up and drive to Pokhara.

16 DAY: – Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (6 Hours):
We take tourist bus at 7 AM after b/fast to drive to Kathmandu and the driving will be a fantastic experience as we drive past many satellite towns on the way and we are able to see rural settlements, gushing rivers, terraces, and green rural landscapes.

16 DAY: – Transfer to the airport for your final departure:
You will be transferred to the international airport for your final departure to your loving home.
