The classic and traditional route to everest Base Camp is Jiri and the new route starting point being from Lukla. Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is the difficult route and therefore attempted by few, determined and adventure trekkers only. This trail was followed by Tenizing Norgey Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in the year 1953 on their first successful summit of Mount Everest.
This Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri passes through glacier rivers, spectacular villages, alpine forests and exotic monasteries. The place called Khartung offers the first glimpse of Mt. Everest (8848m) along side with other peaks like Thamserku (6608m), Mera Peak (6654m), Kushum Kangaroo (6367m) and Khantenga (6779m). Further, we can explore and do the excursion at Namche Bazar(market), Gokyo-Ri, Cho-La Pass, Kalapatthar. The breathetaking views and rich highlife sherpa’s lifestyles in mountains proves to be an awesome expereince for a lifetime.
However, if you intend to trek shorter and less challenging, we recommend you to give a thought to our Everest Base Camp Trek and for thoselooking for more remote and less walked trail can try our Solukhumbu Hidden Valley Trek.
