Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a high altitude trek to experience the lake in the Himalayas. This trek gives mesmerizing views of the entire Bhutanese Himalayan range. You will also get to see Mount Kanchenjunga located in Nepal. It is also the 3rd world highest mountain in the world.
Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a moderate short trek with fewer trekkers on trails. We can do these trek thorough two routes. Most of the trail is in use to bring cattle in Thimphu for selling. It is also known as the cattle migration route. This trail takes us further to the bird-rich areas full of alpine flowers and villages.
Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a beautiful journey for the view of crystal clear lakes. Some days of the trek are a bit difficult as it is an uphill climb. You will also walk through the narrow ridges to the tiny village of Bhutan. We start this tour from Thimphu and ends at Simtokha. On this trek, we will reach up to 4300 m above sea level. You can also take part in fishing if you are fund of it. This trek lets you enjoy the natural landscape with clear water bodies.

Day 01: Arrive Paro
Upon arrival meet and assist by Parikrama Trekking representative. Transfer to the Hotel. We will provide a short briefing about Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek.
Day 02: Paro Tiger’s Nest (Taktshang) hike
Today, we will hike up to Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery.
Day 03: Trekking start from Genekha to Gur (3290 m / 5 hrs)
Today we start our trek with a drive of 45km to reach Genekha village. From here we start climbing huge rock platforms with the picturesque valley below.
Day 04: Trek Gur to Labatama (4100 m / 6 hrs)
While trekking, one enjoys the beauty of the rugged mountain vegetation. The path winds through flowers and wild asparagus (in spring). The meadows are refreshing and inspiring.
Day 05: Halt at Labatama
Today you will have a day excursion to Sertsho and Jagetsho lakes.
Day 06: Trek Labatama to Pankha ( 4000 m / 6 hrs)
On today’s trail, we will reach up to 4520 m from where you can have a majestic view of Himalayan peaks during descent. The mountain peaks include Everest (Nepal), Kanchenjunga (Sikkim), Jumolhari, Jitchu Drake. Tshering Gang, Khangbum, Masa Gang, Tshenda Gang, and Gangche Ta are some others.
Day 07: Trek Pankha to Chamgang, Drive Thimphu
This day entails the crossing of several passes, each one more impressive than the other. Search for different varieties of Blue Poppy and mountain birds.
Day 08: Drive Thimphu to Punakha
Drive to Punakha via amazing Dochula Pass (3100 meters). If the weather is clear, you could have a superb view of Bhutan’s Himalayas from the pass.
Day 09: Drive Punakha to Paro
Today we take a drive to Paro for our final night stay in Bhutan.
Day 10: Departure
