On Druk Path Trek we hike to the altitude ranging from 2000-4200 m above sea level. The trail takes you through forests of fir, blue pine and dwarf rhododendrons. This trek also offers hikers stunning views of Mt. Gangkar Puensum, the highest unscaled peak in the world. You will also see Jichu Drake and Gangkar Puensum.
Druk Path Trek starts with your visit to explore Taktsang Monastery. We take our trail through apple orchids and pine forest. Later we pass through Jele Dzong (fortress), which sits on a high grassy ridge. It will offer breath-taking views of Mount Jumolhari to the north. En route, you enjoy tremendous, panoramic views of snow-clad Himalayan peaks. You can also explore Punakha at the end of your trek.
En route, we come across clear mountain lakes, many yak herders’ camps. We will have splendid views of Himalaya along the Bhutan – Tibet border. Today we will visit Ta Dzong (National Museum) in Paro. The trek will take you through blue pine and fir forests.
Today trail takes you through thick alpine forest and beautiful dwarf rhododendron trees. You may see yaks and yak herders around your campsite.
Today we will see the magnificent views of mountains and valleys from the ridge.
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and Janetso Lake. You may be able to see the life of the Nomad people.
The trek begins with a gradual climb. On a clear day, you will have a spectacular view of Mount Gangkar Puensum.
This is the last day of the trek. Watching the sunrise from Phajoding is a treat in itself.
