Airstrips to Surkhet and Jumla open the trek route to the beautiful lake Rara. A long mountain paths and a series of picturesque villages, one reaches in for to five days the magnigicent banks of the Rara lake. Rara lake, northwest of Kathamdnu is an exhilarating 4 – 5 days trek from Jumla air – strip. Jumla is a trans – Himalayan valley with high ridges covered with forest and alpine pastures. The route is very much off the beaten tracks and offers glimpse of cultures and scenery much different from that in the rest of Nepal. Jumla town ( 2340m) is located in a delightful valley and the villages have many archeological monuments dating back to the medieval times.
