Bokta Peak 6143m is an intimidating trekking peak that lies in Kanchenjunga region of far eastern Nepal. Mountaineering Association of Nepal declared this “Mt. Bokta Peak” in “A” categorized climbing peak and the permits were first issued in 2002 B.S. Bokta peak climbing follows the trail to South of Kanchenjinga base camp route to reach Bokta Base camp 5123m via Yalung glacier and with the magnificient sites of worlds’ third highest mountain Kanchenjunga (8586m), Jahnu also known as Kumbhakarna (7710m), Dhormo Peak (6850m), Nupchu (6690m) along with beautiful landscapes and carities of traditional cultures on the way. This peak requires serious and real trekkers as it is more technical, steep rocky and tough with exposure to rock fall. With fewer trekkers, this region is very different to that of other climbing areas and at the end of hard trekking day one can enjoy Tongba, a fermented millet drink by local Rai and sherpas.
