Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a spiritual tour in the land of Tibet, China. Most of the visitors of this tour are from the Buddhist and Hindu community. This tour takes us to the holiest mountains which stand tall at 6638 m above sea level. To be part of this trek we need to travel to the western part of the Tibetan autonomous region of China.
Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has its own value and provide a significant spiritual spot. Mt Kailash with its huge body mass of Lake Manasarovar is the source of Asia’s four largest mighty rivers. The rivers are Sutlej, Brahmaputra, Indus, and Ganges. To make this trip a success they need to cross a high pass of 5630 m and walk for 3 days. There is a belief that doing this will bless the well being of themselves and their families.
The journey of Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a life-changing moment for some. We start this tour from Kathmandu with the entire visa processing in the Chinese Embassy. Once we have the visa we will start our drive to Nepal Tibet Border. Before we start our Yatra of Mount Kailash we take a dip in the holy Lake Mansarovar. Then you will have a strenuous walk to circumambulate Mount Kailash. Once it is complete we make our final prayer and retrace our way back to Kathmandu.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Nepal, Pickup you from International airport by our representative (1300 meters)
– Collect your original passport, signature in the form and rest in the Hotel
Day 02: Day in Kathmandu to prepare final Tibetan visa. We need 4 working days to prepare final Tibetan visa with your original passport
– After your breakfast in the Hotel start day tour inside the monuments of Kathmandu valley. The place of Hindu, Buddhist and a biggest, oldest palace. The three monuments visit takes about 8 hours. Back to Hotel and overnight
Day 03 & Day 04: Day in Kathmandu. Waiting for visa and overnight in Kathmandu
After have two free days in Kathmandu to wait your final group visa from Chinese embassy. We are providing both the night hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu. You also have choice to choose any other trip around. Hiking or driving tour is possible around Kathmandu. It is also the important to be nearby Kathmandu in-case of any call from Embassy during visa preparation.
Stay in the trip briefing, final packing your bag and buy if some of your equipment is lack of.
Day 05: Drive towards Nepal Tibet border and overnight (121 km – 7 Hours, 1100 meters)
– We start to drive from Kathmandu to Nepal Tibet border. It is 6/7 hours driving from Kathmandu to Timure. Overnight place today is in Nepal site. We prepare to cross to Tibet tomorrow morning
Day 06: Cross Nepal Tibet immigration and reach first Tibetan town (Kerung) 24km – 1 Hour (2700 meters)
Morning after breakfast, short walk to Tibet immigration. Your Nepali guide will finish all the immigration formalities of Nepal and we are ready to cross. Together with Tibetan guide, we finish the Tibet immigration formalities and drive towards first Tibetan town Kerung 2700 meters. Short walking tour around and overnight
Day 07: Drive to Saga town (230km – 6 Hours, 4450 meters)
After start driving towards Saga, you will enjoy a beautiful waterfall. Than the land start to become less vegetation. Beautiful landscape with the beautiful plateau view and we stop at the view points. After crossing several high passes nearly of five thousand meter. Saga is a biggest town in Kailash region.
Day 08: Saga for acclimatization overnight.
It is better we spend two nights in the 4450 meters altitude to get used to our body in the high altitude. Walking around the city, explore the locals.
Day 09: Drive to Lake Mansarovar (400km – 9 Hours)
Driving through the scenic Tibetan plateau, beautiful Lakes and Himalayan views on the way. It is dry land, windy, keep drinking water, eat properly, focus to eat liquid. Minor headache, nausea or even vomiting can be symptoms of high altitude. It will go out after spending night in Mansarovar altitude of 4580 meters. We also suggest not to deep in cold water today in Mansarovar, it may be harmful for your body in high altitude. Mount Kailash south face can clearly seen from here. Accommodation around Mansarovar is so simple mud house only and it is only available in group sharing.
Day 10 :Morning in Lake Mansarovar, option to high in Chui Gompa (monastery) at the hillside of Lake Mansarovar. Latter drive to Darchen(40km) for overnigh
Enjoy morning view of Mount Kailash south face. You will have enough time around Lake Mansarovar, Bath or Deep or any ritual works. Another point is only 1 hour driving time to reach Darchen (Base camp of Mount Kailash) 4575 meters. Before driving towards Darchen, you also can plan to hike a old monastery near the Lake (Chui Gumba) Preparation of Kailash parikrama (Kailash Kora) is 3 days walking around mount Kailash through Dolma La pass (5,600m) If you need personal helper or horse for Kailash Kora, you can pay and order with the help of your guide. You can buy favorite dry foods, fruits in Darchen for 3 days Kailash Parikrama. You also can buy trekking stick here.
Day 11: Start to walk around Mount Kailash (Kailash Parikrama), reach at Derapuk – views of Kailash North face (20 km)
Early breakfast today. Leave your main luggage in Darchen, start walking only with your handbag with few goods. It is about 7 hours easy walking to reach Derapuk (4,900m). Kailash South face, Kailash West face and Kailash North face can be seen today. Closer view of North face in sunset time can be seen in good weather at the time of sun set. Accommodation in Derapuk is in mud house which is only available in group sharing.
Day 12: Second day of Kailash Parikrama, Hardest day of the tour (21 km)
Today is the tough day of the tour as well as the important day. Cross 5645 meters Dolma-La. It is 9 to 11 hours walking. Street uphill for 3 hours till the top, another 2 hours for downhill and rest of for flat walking. You will also cross Gauri Kunda after the pass. Have to bring enough water and foods for day time. Stay overnight in the altitude of 4760 meters. Only group sharing mud houses are available in Juthulpuk. There is no other option. There is a tent house to get noodle and soup after 5-6 hours of tough walking.
Day 13: End of Kailash Parikrama. Walking to Darchen and driving back to Saga for overnight
Only 3 hours of easy walking in flat land to reach your car in Darchen and continue driving to Saga town again. Overnight in much comfortable hotel in Saga (comparatively from Kailash parikrama days)
Day 14: Drive back to Kerung town
After your breakfast in the Hotel or from restaurant, Start drive the same way back today to reach Kerung town, last Tibetan town bordering with Nepal
Day 15: Drive back to Nepal Immigration, and drive back to Kathmandu
It is an hour driving to Nepal Tibet immigration after early breakfast in the Hotel. Custom formalities with the help of guides. Say bye to Tibetan guide and further drive to Kathmandu with Nepali guide. 8 Hours of driving reach Kathmandu, transfer to the Hotel and overnight
Day 16: Day of Departure
We manage to transfer you to International airport for your final departure. It is important to start driving before 3 hours from the original flight time.

One should have God's grace to reach Manasarovar Lake and Mount Kailash, the climate throughout the year will be very very cold but we can easily take bath in the sacred lake if we have faith in our Almighty.
