Ghorepani Poon hill Trek

TRIP INTRODUCTION

Ghorepani Poon hill trek is short, safe and easy trek in an Annapurna Region. This place is named after the ancient traders used to stop for rest and their horses. In Nepali it means (Ghora) drink water meaning (pani) in Nepali. This trek is best for the first time trekkers and family trekkers. Ghorepani Poon hill trek is one of the most busiest and accommodation are hard to find during the season as most of the beginners trekkers tends to trek this area which is full of natural beauty and opportunity for Photographers

Ghorepani poon hill trek starts from Nayapul which is an hour drive from Pokhara. The starting elevation of this trek is approx 1310 m reaching up to 3210 m in Poonhill. In this Poon hill trekking trail gives you the insight of mix of Nepalese ethnic culture of Gurung and Magars People along with the breathtaking views of Annapurna Massif Ranges that includes Annapurna (8093m), Dhaluagiri (8167m) and other snowy peak and greenhill mountains like Machhapuchhre (Fish Tailed) Mountain, Himchuli, Nilgiri, etc. The main highlight of trekking in Ghorepani Poon hill foothill is the pre dawn hike to Poonhill from Ghandruk following the different pattern of white, pink and red rhodendron. Upon reaching Poonhill, you can see the first rays of sun kissing the different ranges of Annapurna changing its color to red, orange and shiny gold such as it shows the changing form of life from infant to teenage to adult which fades away with old age to sunset.

Poon hill trek in short can be termed as the “heavenly trek” which takes you to the different level of paradise in earth. You can’t stop but talking your experience of seeing the sunrise right from your bed through window at cozy tea house. So we prefer to have a 6 month ahead booking to give the best facilities for the trekkers without missing any service opportunities.

 Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
 Day 02: Transfer to airport, fly Pokhara (914m.). Drive to Nayapul (1050m.). Trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.).
 Day 03: Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675 m.) and it takes about 6 hours. To begin your trek, you could ascend steeply for the early 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, Magar villages. Overnight
 Day 04: Ghorepani to Ghandruk (1950m.) which takes about 7 and half hours. Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Overnight
 Day 05:
Trek Ghandruk to Pothana (1900 m.). We have a number of ascents and descents today. We descend down to ModiKhola and the trail again climbs to Landruk village. We walk through paddy fields followed by an uphill climb to Pothana via Deuralli Village.
 Day 06:
Pothana to Phedi and Drive to Pokhara. Most part of the trail to Pokhara from Pothana is one the ridge of hill and we walk into the forest from where the shining views of Himalayas can be observed. We decent down to Phedi through the village of Dhaupus and Drive to Pokhara for about 30 mins. Overnight in Hotel
 Day 07: Drive to Fishling for RAFTING (3hrs drive from Pokhara), RAFTING +4 grade,  3.5 hours about 25 kilometer rafting and lunch then drive to Kathmandu about 3 hours by private transport. Overnight in Hotel
 Day 08: Sight seeing in Kathmandu Valley (UNESCO Heritage site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatunath Temple, Shwoyambhunath and Central city). Overnight in Hotel
Day 09: At leisure until transfer to airport for departure flight. End of Tour
