Ghorepani Poonhill Trek


Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is a short, safe, and easy trek in the Annapurna Region. This trek is best for first-time trekkers and family trekkers. Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is one of the busiest and accommodation is hard to find during the season. Most of the beginner’s trekkers tend to trek this area. This trek is full of natural beauty and opportunity for Photographers

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek starts from Nayapul which is an hour drive from Pokhara. The starting elevation of this trek is approx 1310 m reaching up to 3210m in Poonhill. In this Poon hill trekking trail, you have an insight into a mix of Nepalese ethnic culture of Gurung and Magars. Along with the breathtaking views of Annapurna Massif Ranges. This includes Annapurna (8093m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), and other snowy peaks. Greenhill mountains like Machhapuchhre (Fish Tailed) Mountain, Himchuli, Nilgiri. The main highlight of trekking in Ghorepani Poon hill foothill is the pre-dawn hike of Ghandruk. It follows the different patterns of white, pink, and red rhododendron. Upon reaching Poonhill, you can see rays of the sun kissing the different ranges of Annapurna. Sun Changes its color to red, orange, and shiny gold. The changing form of life from infant to teenage to adult which fades away with old age to sunset.

Poon hill trek, in short, is a “heavenly trek” which takes you to the different level of paradise on earth. You can’t stop talking about your experience of trekking in this region. Also about seeing the sunrise right from your bed through the window at the cozy tea house. Be sure to have a 6 month ahead booking to grab the best facilities.

 Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
 Day 02:Transfer to airport, fly Pokhara (914m.). Drive to Nayapul (1050m.). Trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.).
 Day 03:Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675 m.) and it takes about 6 hours. To begin your trek, you could ascend steeply for the early 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, Magar villages. Overnight
 Day 04:Ghorepani to Ghandruk (1950m.) which takes about 7 and a half hours. Early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhre (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. Overnight
 Day 05:
Trek Ghandruk to Pothana (1900 m.). We have a number of ascents and descents today. We descend down to Modi Khola and the trail again climbs to Landruk village. We walk through paddy fields followed by an uphill climb to Pothana via Deuralli Village.
 Day 06:
Pothana to Phedi and Drive to Pokhara. Most part of the trail to Pokhara from Pothana is one the ridge of the hill and we walk into the forest from where the shining views of the Himalayas can be observed. We will descent down to Phedi through the village of Dhaupus and Drive to Pokhara for about 30 mins. Overnight in Hotel
 Day 07:Drive to Fishling for RAFTING (3hrs drive from Pokhara), RAFTING +4 grade,  3.5 hours about 25-kilometer rafting and lunch then drive to Kathmandu about 3 hours by private transport. Overnight in Hotel
 Day 08:Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley (UNESCO Heritage site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Shwoyambhunath, and Central city). Overnight in Hotel
Day 09:At leisure until transfer to airport for departure flight. End of Tour
