Dolpo region is known as the largest district of Nepal covering 5.36% of the total landmass of the country Nepal. It elevation vary from places to places and ranges from 1,525 to 7,6525 m and to its north lies the Tibet China border surrounded by Jumla, Mugu, karnali, Myagdi, Jajarkot, Rukum, and Mustang. Large portion of this region lies as Shey Phoksondo National park with the deepest lake in Nepal Phoksondo Lake. Dolpo district is a labyrinth of often wide glacial valleys and ridges.
